Story
I am the founder and manager of Les Cuirs d'Emilex, a craft workshop where tradition meets a passion for objects designed to last. I first built my experience by creating custom-made equipment designed to withstand demanding conditions (notably for re-enactment and role-playing enthusiasts). I apply this same standard of robustness today to the repair of your everyday leather goods and adventure equipment.
My specialties: Restoring and reinforcing what matters
My days are divided between creating and repairing the pieces that matter most to you. I work on classic leather goods worn by time, but also on more atypical pieces:
• Repair of leather costume pieces: restoration, reinforcement or adjustment of light armor, bracers, corsets, baldrics or LARP (Live Action Role Play) accessories.
• Replacement or reinforcement of bag handles and shoulder straps.
• Complete restitching of worn seams (bags, wallets, satchels).
• Repair and adjustment of thick leather belts.
• Replacement of hardware (rivets, snap buttons, fasteners).
• The workshop bonus: 3D printing and laser engraving to personalize your item!
My way of working: Tradition and time
I work mainly by hand. My specialty is traditional saddle stitching, known to be almost indestructible, far stronger than machine stitching. For repairs requiring additional material, I carefully select high-quality leather (primarily vegetable-tanned) to ensure harmonious aging and maximum durability. My level of demand is simple: to restore your item’s functionality while respecting its history and aesthetics, without ever altering its character.
A second life for your trusted companions
Whether it is a family heirloom, a daily work bag, or your favorite costume piece for events, entrust me with your equipment: it will be cared for and repaired according to the rules of the craft, ready to set off on new adventures.
