Hello! My name is Laurie Rotella and I have always been passionate about sewing.

So it was only natural that I decided to study fashion after graduating from middle school: two years of vocational training in fashion in Agen, followed by two years of high school in crafts and arts in Saint Jean de Luz.

I then worked as a seamstress in prestigious boutiques such as Sonia Rykiel and Natacha in Biarritz.

Since November 2021, I have been lucky enough to have my own little workshop in Bayonne, which I have called AMATXI BEZALA. “Like grandma” in Basque, a name that means a lot to me: my paternal great-grandmother was a seamstress, we rarely saw her anywhere else but in front of her sewing machine, but it was also my maternal grandmother who gave me a taste for sewing and taught me all about “recycling, resourcefulness, dressing up, and DIY.”
